Rambles and Half-lies

In case anyone’s more interested in what I’m interested in currently rather than what I’ve been up to in yet another one of my prolonged absences.

Maria-sama ga Miteru Again? 4th Season: Wait, what am I doing still watching this show when all my favourite characters have long graduated? Oh wait, gender-bending school play? Hmm… Well, I’m sure if I stick with this long enough, Sei-sama’s bound to return for an episode or two :D

Maria†Holic: SHAFT, Inoue Marina and Kobayashi Yu in deliciously sadistic roles and even a dash of Sawashiro Miyuki tossed in? It’s hard for me not to like this show already traps/supposed yuri aside XD

Minami-ke Okaeri: I forgot which studio is handling this one this time – though I guess I don’t really need to care so long as Hosaka-senpai’s the laughs are still there =P (Wait, so will there or will there be no more of those ‘Bible Black faces’?)

White Album: I don’t really get why this is the show to love or hate (more of the latter it seems) this season. Okay, so the narrative style is a bit unusual (which will either strike you as needlessly pretentious or bloody awesome), the male lead comes from a long line of male leads that noone cares about, yet all the girl characters seem set to fall hopelessly in love with him and then there’s Hirano Aya*Ahem* On the other hand, I have Mizuki Nana, Maeno Tomoaki, and the promise of snow a trifecta of my weaknesses!, so that balances things out :P

Zoku Sayonara Natsume Yuujinchou: More of what we’ve already come to love from the first season. Nothing more to say (except I wish they didn’t name it the way they did, I keep half expecting to hear “Runba Runba Runba…” in the OP)

Da Capo if only: Yea, if only indeed. I guess if they still manage to screw Kotori over in the end (please don’t :( ), this will still be somewhat of a redemption for the abomination that was DCSS just because Aisia’s nowhere in sight.

(Supposedly) Still watching: Kuroshitsuji (Why is it that I never really found it out of place for people to speak Japanese in Victorian England, only until I see the Indians do it too? – and I was fine with it in Emma too -_-”), Skip Beat! (Can we get Kyoko to call someone a female pig on this show too?)

What you could expect (but don’t get your hopes too high up) on this blog in the future: Me blabbering about Comiket, Washinomiya Shrine, Shirakawa-go, Mizuki Nana’s LIVE FEVER 2009 (??? I am kicking myself badly right now over the fact that she just finished performing in what practically is my own backyard and I COULDN’T GO TTTTTTTT_______TTTTTTTTTT Somebody drop me a ticket to the Nagoya show next week?) and absolutely nothing about the shows mentioned above. That is, if I’m not (supposedly) too busy with my mini graduation thesis and preparing to not foul up an interview to enter Osaka University -_-”

P.S. Oh, and maybe a post on the year that was 2008 if I can be bothered, though don’t be surprised if that comes out in mid-June or something. And just as belated as that is, Happy 2009 to y’all!

Back from vacation… And soon going off again. Sounding like some sort of jet-setter, aren’t I? But consider that I’ve been on budget ferries and soon going to embark on yet another long-assed rain journey to Tokyo (you, know, maybe I should just fork out the cash and go by Shinkansen bus this time… -_-”), and I hope you’re wishing me (and my bank account) luck in my seemingly never-ending journey in escaping reality, okay? (Am I cutting myself too much slack since I’m finally entering university again next year? *shrugs*)

Well, I’ve had these few days in between to… recollect myself and hopefully post something here, you’d think but (Yea, yea, that dreaded ‘but’), besides catching up with all the shows I’ve missed the last week (anime, the finale of Survivor, and catching up to the latest instalment of Desperate Housewives XD), I’ve not had much time to do anything productive on this blog… Is what I’d like to say, though frankly I’ve had the time, I just couldn’t will myself to do this blogging thing again. Uh-oh, smells like burnout, doesn’t it?

I’m not going to toss this place up in a dramatic gesture saying that I’m done blogging for good or anything of that sort. At least not now (It’s still Christmas after all! Not that it means anything to me except that I get cake =P). But since I’ll be going away yet again soon and this time I won’t be back till after the new year (with more fail posts of animu my travels to come?), I thought I might as well type this something up and say, once again, sorry for being a fail blogger at this time of the year when really I should be at my blogging fittest, but I’m too ‘busy’ mooching about between meals and watching random episodes of Animal Yokocho (in Cantonese ORZ) to keep my spirits up in this seemingly ronery winter season.

And with that… My internet time is up. Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and a Happy New Year. See you 2009!

(Don’t worry, I’ll still be lurking your blogs as best as I can till then ;P)

Don’t.

I realize I’ve not blogged about anime in ages (which actually doesn’t reflect my watching schedule at all. It should be easy to surmise that the more anime I watch the less time I have to blog, right? Oh exams? What exams…).

I was considering blogging the latest cycle of America’s Next Top Model that recently premiered a week ago or something – this show is like my guilty displeasure. I roll my eyes constantly at all the cliche bitchy antics of these girls (nowadays, it happens more when host Tyra Banks appears on screen), yet I’ve laughed and cried (out of laughter XD) and screamed “B****TTTTTCCCCHHHH!!!!” at the screen (and I wonder why my neighbours dislike me) through 11 season of this ‘reality’ crap that passes of as entertainment show and I still ask for more every week. I guess it makes me feel better to see more miserable specimens of the human species than I am -_-”

*ahem* Anyways, I swept the idea aside since I wasn’t up to screen-capping youtube videos and spam AnimeNano with non-anime/Japanese material (Hey, they came to Tokyo for one cycle), but it seems kanzeon has taken up the task anyhow. And I wouldn’t be who I am if I wasn’t a bandwagon jumper so here goes =P

A teaser for what’s to come :D (In a future post, mind. This one’s just a quick ramble on my current travel situation)

What really went on in Allison & Lillia 13 (It’s more relevant to the post than I expected!)

(In case you don’t get it, I’m Wil’s talking about Mizuki Nana seiyuu singer extraordinaire whose talents are often wasted on B-rate roles/anime, Allison’s seiyuu)

Quiz time: How many characters in this image are still alive? How many will still be alive at the end of the show? How manye of them shouldn’t still be alive? (Perhaps more importantly, which one of these questions interests you more -_-”)

So I just realized (okay I’ve realized for a while now) that I’ve not actually posted anything directly anime-related in… God it’s been that long?? Guess this season sucks after all!

So to put this blog back into the anime ranting groove (I’m sure you’re all tired of my weeaboo summer adventures for now. Be thankful I never got round to posting about “The Beach Episode of Tondemo Nothing with Issa-sa : Fanservice not Included!“), here’s a random rant on a show that EVERYONE’s been crazy about since last year, but I’ve not been giving much attention here at Tondemo Nothing!- everyone’s favourite trainwreck, Code Geass!

(Oh and if you’re reading a Code Geass post without expecting spoilers… You’re disillusioned my friend)
