Of flesh wounds (*ouch*)… and a little about everything else.
Posted by issa-sa under Uncategorized, Excuses

Seriously, It’s just a flesh wound.
(I wanted to use the Nagato Yuki image, but I seemed to have misplaced it -_-”)
You know how I always use a lack of material for not making proper blog posts (and use crack postings to give the semblance of this being a regularly updated blog =P)? Well, now’s probably one of the worst times to use it again, since that’s practically false. Why I seem to have a mountainload of material I could potential address in this post right now (but I don’t think I will really, will say why later), such as…
1) The whole fiasco about how fansubs are destroying anime and whatnot. If I wasn’t so hungry right now and in a rush to get to dinner I might act as a good Samaritan to everyone who’s been living under a rock and redirect you to the video (floating around youtube, look for some dude with Otaking in his name) that’s the source of it all. But I’ll just assume you’re savvy to the details (and link to Hinano’s post as well since everyone else is doing it. There also seems to be a link to every other post on the issue at bluemist which is handy :P) and state a condensed version of my own personal take on the issue:
LEAVE FANSUBBERS ALONE!!!
(the ones who sub the shows I like anyways)
Seriously though, despite the points raised by the fella about how ‘unprofessional’ fansubs tend to be these days being valid, I can’t stand how he has to be on such a high horse to point the flaws of fansubs since well, I hate high horses? Since I’m too poor and impatient to rely on official subs still relying on fansubs, and like I presume a good bunch of other anime watchers currently, started getting into anime by owing much to fansubs, my ‘loyalties’ if I were to have any will be on the side of the thankless people who put the multicoloured words and clutter translator notes onto the ‘pristine’ raws in their attempt to be the best fansub group EVAR make anime that much more accessible to the world.
(and though I have to *facepalm* at needless translator notes that explain things that don’t need to be, I’ll admit that I’ve learned quite a bit -of useless trivia mostly- from some of those translator notes, so I actually don’t mind so much pausing sometimes to read them. If they came as a separate textfile though, suppose that would be less obtrusive - but honestly speaking, I’ll probably forget about it completely at the end of the episode and not read it. Putting them at the end of the episode is a good compromise though, imho.)
-Oh, and as usual, the lulzposts on this issue form the usual sources
2) Anime Escapism. So the All-Girls-Round-Robin has started out with their first subject, and I don’t know how many posts on Anime and Escapism I’ve read these past few days, but I do wish there was convenient link to all of them since the AGRR realy does seem to be a whole larger entity than I suppose any of us would’ve expected. Oh wait, good old Sasa has one (currently), so you can go there to catch up with the posts from the members who have chosen to write on this particular subject.
I did say I would jump on in uninvited on any subject if I felt like it - and indeed I felt like it before, but now I think it’ll just be yet another self-centred “this is my experience of how I use anime as an escape from the shitty state of my life (half-lie)” which I somehow think isn’t as relevant to the point as it should be… Ah, like I’ve ever let that stop me from posting before
Well, if I still feel like jumping on the bandwagon some time later (for it won’t be now), you can expect a AniYoko Trapdoor Rabbit Hole post some time this week. Or the next Or the week afte-
3) Yet another weekend escapade. So weekends, ironically, aren’t the best time for me to blog or even watch anime since in my utter distaste of staying in my dorm room for too long (or rather, because the internet connection here in the weekends becomes rather cruddy and I can’t watch much), I’ve been making ridiculous excuses to get off campus as much as I can in the weekends (that and I’ve become decidedly lazy to cook and would rather destroy my health with Yoshinoya and Mr Donut). Also every chance of an outing there is, I jump at. Yesterday marked my first time at an actual Japanese shrine not purely as a tourist or for so-called ‘educational’ purposes… Okay so maybe I was only there for the matsuri (festival) stalls, but it was highly fun and well, perhaps ‘educational’ in its own way after all. Anyways, I was about to post about it today, but here’s my highly awaited excuse:
Yesterday also marked my first time in a self-inflicted bicycle accident OTL
Long story short, in all my klutziness and my stupidity of thinking my feeble arms could actually commandeer a second-hand bike one-handedly down a slope, I successfully ended up with a face-full of asphalt - which is probably one of the worst common surfaces to land on in any case. Besides a few ‘flesh wounds’ though, I’m still in decent blogging condition (I can still move my fingers) so I’m here typing this right now, but due to my own shodding dressing of wounds and most stores not being open on a Sunday, I’ve got to head off to the nearest convenience store for more bandages right now. So till my next actual post… -_-”

Why must it be the rabbit hole? Why not something else?

feel better! and watch out for dudes with the dojikko fetish, especially when it’s one of about 57 total fetishes.

@Shin: The one thing I knew I should’ve learned from anime was how to look moe while flying face first into asphalt -_-”
@Ez and blissmo: Viva the fansub love! It’s thanks to the colourful bouncing fonts that I actually have songs to sing at karaoke sessions XD
@double: Yea why? I prefer trapdoors myself.
@otou-san: Eh, only 57?
@itsubun: Oo, that’s handy, wish I noticed it earlier, thanks!

Yoo issa-sa, if you like, we can jump onto the band wagon for the next R-R topic together, if the topic is to our liking that is. ^.^
I’m giving the fansubbers moral support out there for a documentary just to “shoot” them is plain mean. They’re not professional to begin with and there are many groups out there who are really trying their best.

DEATH TO THE FANSUBBER HATERS. One does not have the right to complain when people are giving out aid for free(unless of course if its Nyoro~n).
Ouch that must have hurt. Do heal soon, wouldn’t want a scar on the face now would we?
