End of Spring Evaluations: In which Uncharacteristically Lewd (but characteristically lame) Jokes Abound

Olga facing the most difficult challenge in her life: Death by cake or bishie? I know, it’s a tough one…
Here’s a Tondemo Nothing first : and actual end of the season watchlist series appraisal post! You’d think an anime blog would do one every season without fail, but fail I am and I’ve yet to do it even once the entire past one year odd that I’ve tried to keep this place afloat OTL
Still watching:

Though there’s ball catching involved, I support the main hetero coupling and leaving the lame BL jokes out fot his one
Cross Game: Thank goodness I decided to follow Cross Game before I realized it’s slated for 52 episodes (I’ve somehow developed a chronic fear of the thought of marathoning anything more than… 5 episodes nowadays – meaning I’ve kinda stopped touching series I’m not currently following weekly. Guess I’ll never get round to watching Fullmetal anything or finishing Kyou Kara Maoh ever
) – constantly good, nothing else for me to say.

~Too late to intrude on the BROMANCE – but never too late for a threesome~
Hetalia: Thanks to Hetalia, Namikawa Daisuke’s voice is semi-permanently stuck in my head (I’ve finally started to take notice of that Ousaki dude in La Cordo D’Oro now and keep expecting him to offer Hino pasta now -_-”) – or it could be Marukaite Chikyuu staying as my ringtone for more months now…

Them hands.. where are them hands???
The (Current?) Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi: In which Haruhi has been subconsciously lusting for a new Itsuki X Kyon yaoi doujin OVA to be realeased during the past 15498 summers.
Almost forgot:
Saki - Despite the yuri over and undertones, Saki is turning out to be the closest to shounen I’ve gotten to since, uh… a 100~ episodes of Bleach? I kinda wish they took the Yakitate Japan approach with the the mahjong, but they only do so in as far as implying that you don’t make it big in the mahjong world unless you’re gifted to the point of being a freak of nature.
Over and done with (i.e. Good Riddance):
K-ON! : Yet another KyoAni moe spreading device hate it or love it series, which ends up leaving me somewhere near the middle (leaning towards the hate side, since I’m practically surrounded by K-ON-tards wherever in uni -_-”). Liked: Slice-of-life concept. Didn’t like: Any of the characters. Could’ve been improved by: replacing Sawako with the manager from DMC and hiring Shin to write the script.
(Obviously no dumb BL jokes here – you’d be hard-pressed to assemble 1 and a half Y chromosomes between the 2 above series)
Not so over and done with:

“Deeper! DEEPERRRR!!!”
Eden of the East : As expected, things ended in a (massive nekkid NEET orgy XD) bang the way it had to – EoE’s strength was very much in its intriguing who-knows-where-this-will-go storyline – without which, well, let’s jsut say the cast mostly fell under the plain Jane or “we’re not here to drive the story, it’s driving us” category – the exceptions only being a select few of the Selecao (incidentally the ones most comfortable undressed
). Perhaps the creators wanted us to relate to the as down to earth characters as they could put in a setting that’s really anything but and let the story and visuals do the talking. Not saying that the ‘end’ (full judgment reserved for after the movies) was anything bad if not a tad bewildering, but I guess I’ more of a character driven watcher than anything, which leads to…
Over T_T :

Ristorante Paradiso : Quite the opposite of Eden of the East where there’s a clearer focus on the colourful characters and their individual stories of their pasts that they drive. And if that – coupled with copious amounts of pasta and oyaji r4p3 -’s your thing, then Ristorate Paradiso serves up a consistently wonderful set of 11 episodes that merely takes a casual bow in the end (could’ve been interesting, though unnecessary, if they tried to go out with a scrumptious bang…)
Over!(?!!!)

Enomoto: “So did we or did we not…???”
Lesson learnt: Guys, it doesn’t matter if you’re not good looking or is pathetic as hell, eventually the girls will realize that the bishies in their lives either a) don’t exist b) are dating one another, or c) are doing relief work in some inaccessible corner fo the world, leaving them to dig from the scrap pile of mating partners to ultimately choose you!
Hatsukoi Limited: The surprise best ending in this short but thankfully mostly rewarding watchlist! Goes to show that you can’t underestimate series based on their fugly male character designs and fanservice bonanza EDs XD (Like, anyone but I did -_-”) I’d like to describe the show and its characters as ultimately being juvenile and naive – but that makes it sound bad when it’s really those traits that made the show an entertaining and believable watch (plus it made me feel like my high school days are long gone and I’ve turned into and old fart ~_~”"”)
And that’s a wrap for my Spring 2009 (excluding the shows continuing that I’ll probably still be watching toward the end). Bidding farewell for now to the first loves, the elderly bishies, and of course them Johnnies (=P), and saying hello to… crying seacats I suppose (still haven’t decided what to watch this Summer).
P.S. : And in other news…

(Wish me luck getting to Saitama via Tokyo nearly 9 hours by overnight bus tomorrow night, and then back on Sunday night in time for classes on Monday – which I’ll most likely skip due to excess adrenaline and possible blood loss anyhow XD)

It’s as though this post was designed to taunt people like me who’s not going to get to see Nana-chan! ಥ_ಥOh yeah, I too, agree K-ON! was relatively meh, but hey, I need my dosage of moe from somewhere, which it delivered at least.

Hetalia’s a hell of a drug, I read the main plot of the manga but DAYYYMN I couldn’t make it through the Valentine’s Day Special.
Also nice news for lonely guys like me in your Hatsukoi Limited caption. Now I just have to get back to researching Jiang Shi to complete my vampire fiction research:
