SADAHARU OMOCHIKAERI!!!
The JUMP Shop somewhere in the top floors of Yodobashi Camera in Umeda – For all your Shounen Jump series’-related merchadise-collecting needs, perfect for anything you can think of stamped with Bleach, Hitman Reborn, Death Note, Naruto, etc… And yea, if it wasn’t for Gintama I probably wouldn’t have spent half the time I eventually did browsing there. Didn’t buy anything in the end since why sepdn 400yen on a Gintama fan when the Japanese shove tons of free ones at you as advertisement material everywhere you go? (It’s also the 101235674th place I’ve seen so far that sells Bleach and Naruto cosplays! Oh JOY…). Funny thing about the shop is that it’s stuck in the middle of a floor full of over-priced fancy-schmancy cafes where people obviously on the other side of the social spectrum as the average otaku ar lining up for hours to sample teensy-weensy portions of food. TsK
Also in Yodobashi Camera (which is basically a gigantic electronics mall with a little more than just electronics), on the floor where they sell musical instruments and anime/manga/game/stuff, there’s also a wide section of gachapon machines which I usually just browse through since most of it is stuff I wouldn’t want hanging off my phone anyways. The latest thing that did catch my eye though:
Kimi wa dare to kissu wo suru?
Of course, I’ve talked about how much the gachapon gods don’t like me before, so I passed seeing as the only one I could possibly want is Ranka, and maybe even Alto, but I know they’d just shove Sheryl in my face. Why I even have prejudices about characters from a show I don’t even watch, I don’t know. I read too many anime blogs I suppose…
And if you’re wondering why I’m not posting about what I actually have been doing the previous 3 days (this post just relaes toyesterday after I came back from the camp), it’s not because it was such a horribly fail experience I’m not talking about it… I just had 20 minutes to post SOMETHING so here, take it and leave it!

Why is Japan such a cool place?

Why is Australia so dull?

I just got some Mario Kart stuff via Yodobashi. ^_^ I could have spent all the 100 yen in my wallet trying to get all of them but I somehow resisted.

No Claymore?
I would have saved a lot of money if I’ve visited Jump Shop. (:

@blissmo:
“Why is Australia so dull?”
What unpatriotic lies, there’s plenty cool about Australia where I live:
There’s the Anime at Abbotsford shop just up the road from me (http://www.anime-oz.com/), Kinokuniya in the Sydney CBD, and of course JB Hi-Fi which sells cheap Anime DVDs in sales. And we have some of the most kawaii things on the planet, like Koalas and baby Kangaroos, not to mention the platypus. Of course you live in Melbourne, so I’m not surprised you feel that way. Oh wait, you Melbourne dwellers get all the art museums and creative arts funding Sydney doesn’t get, and trams! So ungrateful, blissmo, treasure what you have!

HOLY SHIT MACROSS GACHAPON. AWESOME.
August 12, 2008 @ 2:44 pm
@Shin: Sponsor me a new camera
@Ez: At the risk of having them being labeled as ‘moral corrupting’???
@biankita: Come visit me!!!
@kanzeon: I’m just pimping out the ‘cool’ bits, like every other country on this planet, there’s a lot of crap to Japan that I hear a lot of about, but am too ignorant to experience myself.
@blissmo & Jacob Martin: Well now I know which part of Australia I should visit =P
@Caitlin: They’re just too tempting… I should really start praying to them Gachapon Gods though.
@Hynavian: Oh yea, there was Claymore all right. Sorry for missing it out, I wouldn’t have if they sold a Claymore cosplay I suppose…
@otou-san: Guess the iphone isn’t all it’s cracked up to be then ;P
@C.I.: I’ll take your word for it, since I don’t watch the show XD
August 12, 2008 @ 3:18 pm
@issa-sa: Either way you can find koalas in either city’s zoo. See both for different things, Sydney for Anime, Melbourne for actual Australian culture.
That and I need to fix my name thingy on my comments so people will recognise my blog.

I would die a happy man if you had taken a picture of a gaijin buying a Naruto headband.
August 13, 2008 @ 6:25 am
I wonder how much the giant Sadaharu plush would cost if it was for sale.
August 15, 2008 @ 2:05 am
why give up on the gashapon so soon?! How will you ever know that you were fated to meet Alto or Ranka then?! D:
I don’t think I have much luck with gashapons either, but when I get the ones I’m not aiming for, I tag them as a possible gift items for other otaku and even non-otaku acquaintances back in the country (they won’t even know they were my ‘rejects’)
August 15, 2008 @ 3:19 am
T______T I want the entire MF gachapon machine.
August 15, 2008 @ 4:31 pm
Thanks for taking the time to post an update! I know how hard that is when you’re on the road and on the move and there’s so many other things to do.
…and I totally feel your pain about the gashapon. They hate me too, I swear. I never get the one I want. ;_;
