Oh noes, fansubs with large image obscuring fonts are destroying anime!

(Okay, seriously, from now on ;P)

Now that the sub for Toshokan Sensou 8 is out, I guess I can release this ’serious’ post on the episode :P

But first, to make up for the lack of Doujou in the previous episode (wait, I didn’t even blog the previous episode OTL. I fail.), here’s more screenshots of him to spam you with :P

Fanboy in me: Needs moar GAR / Fangirl in me: *melts*

(TsK, Ocha! subs, you are totally alienating the group of watchers that won’t understanding the meaning of the “-san” suffix, that’s UNPROFESSIONAL!)

Okay, I know when I need my ears cleared out when I didn’t even notice the faint (but still, no excuse) shouting of the rabid Shibasaki fanboys in this scene when I watched the raw. And thanks to that I was left pretty bewildered about the heart-eyed troupe that appeared at Doujou’s door then (it would’ve been pretty lulz if they were there for Doujou, but Shibasaki’s a good choice to fanboy over too XD) -_-”

SRS BSNS

The most significant move Doujou made this episode was still how he personally tramped through the rain to ‘rescue’ Iku from the EVUL CLUTCHES of Satoshi – okay, so I’m dramatizing the statement a bit :P – especially after telling Tezuka to stop thinking about giving himself out to his EVUL brother and stating (somewhat hesitantly) that the best course of action would be to wait for Iku to come back on her own, since putting the Task Force in action would seem very uncalled for considering Satoshi was ‘merely’ asking Iku out presumably to get her to join his Research Group – which he’s fully in power to do so.

Of course everyone and their mother knows Doujou can’t help but feel all agitated and concerned himself (so much so that he leaves his laundry out in the rain, and then walks through said rain to get to her), so he eventually gives in and goes to find Iku anyways despite everything he said :D Cue SWEEEETTTT Doujou X Iku moments XDDDD

Satoshi is SCUM. Well, I may say that since he’s now playing the token villain in the show (taking over the rather weak role played by the Media Communists before?), but his Research Group and his ideals of reaching an oppression-free society really falls into the grey zone between the two warrng factions of this show. Still, no excusing his devious and underhanded methods in gaining what he wants – which in this case is none other than his own brother in his bed on his side, so I say BURN, SCUM, BURN!!

URGH!!! This totally unnecessary translator’s note is ruining the view of our beloved Satoshi!!! How dare you Ocha!

Don’t underestimate those from the Intelligence (Especially not when they’re voiced by Sawashiro Miyuki!)

The second best thing about this episode has got to be Shibasaki and her quick assertiveness when it comes to looking out for Iku. That and how she eventually pwns Asahina (though the poor guy was eventually genuinely smitten with her, hah) And Sawashiro Miyuki voicing her is just so right (and a near opposite to the current Shinkurou on Kure-nai – Buck up, you lolicon, don’t you have SOMETHING TO PROTECT??- JK =P), so here’s a belated HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Miyukichi!

You heard that, Doujou? :P

Damned right!

And despite how all this is making Iku sound like the token damsel in distress who needs everyone’s help, that’s not true at all. In recent episodes we see that she’s not so quick to just act physically, and she has been putting thought into her words as she did when answering Shibasaki hypothetical question an episode before and this time before getting ahead of herself with Satoshi’s wicked ideas. Iku still stands firm by her ideals of a oppression-free society, but this she doesn’t do blindly and she’s able to reason that what the Library stands for is indeed right, and certainly worth fighting for (and that Satoshi can go die in a ditch for his desperate attempts to woo his Otouto-kun into his hands…)

This scene still cracked me up XD (The Lovely Complex vibes are jsut great)

I swear that line is not made up XD (Should I take it as a compliment or insult to Doujou that Tezuka compares his brother in the past to him?)

But as if the DoujouXIku moments in this episode weren’t enough, we get the big bomb finally dropped on us (and Iku) at the very end – In a letter to Iku, Satoshi subtly but clearly (oxymoron!) marks the identity of Iku’s Prince Charming as none other than… Geez, like I need to answer this question for you?

“Oh, like duh, I get it now, Doujou = PRINCE!” …

… “Say what???!!!”

And just a little more than a day away from the next episode… conveniently enough =P

*Thanks to Ocha! for the subs, and really all the ‘jabs’ here were really meant to be jokes in light of the whole fansubs = unprofessional = fail fiasco, so no offence meant ;D *
