@double: The rain brings out the best (worst?) of people? Personally, I think it helped that there was a lot of space in the grounds to walk about so it didn’t feel as suffocating and it was easier to avoid people going “IKAGADESHOUKA???” promoting their stall when you didn’t feel like hearing it the 1100th time.

@usagijen: Oooh, I can’t wait till this rainy season stops so we can start with the hanabi. And don’t let their cuteness (and the horrible quality of the pictures) fool you, those kids have some WICKED moves I tell you ;P

The only festival I managed to go to when I was in Japan last year was Fukuoka’s Hanabi. Would’ve went to other festivals if we had the time!

I’ve been to a mini matsuri held at a University in Choshi last year during my exchange program, but it wasn’t even a quarter as lively as your photos depict. I’m really envious of your experience.

@Hinano: It’s the SPIRIT of the festival, not the amount of people or the setting that makes it!!! (*snorts at self*) I hope it’s a large parking lot?

@biankita: If I were you, I’d spend the weekend baking 500 cookies but less than 10 will end up being served to whoever it was it was meant for *winks*

well… i don’t have any balls to cut off, but you’ve probably already watched it by now so… ^^

the festival looks really nice and i’m jealous you get to spend you weekend outdoors whereas i spent the weekend baking 500 pieces of cookies i will never eat ~so sad…
