Chi’s Sweet Home is the best slice of kitty life anime ever!!! XD

I haven’t seen Hidamari yet. I couldn’t appreciate Lucky Star when I first watched it because this is one of my starter anime that I couldn’t understand because of the otaku jokes. Maybe now that I’ve been watching enough of various genres for the last year and a half, I should rewatch it. To date, my best slice of life anime is Honey and Clover.

I do like how they show off the differing perspectives between us humans and Chi, but I don’t keep watching the show for the cat. The family is where it’s at, especially Youhei’s mom.

It’s quite an achievement to convincingly tell stories (however slice-of-life-y they may be) from the perspective of an animal – some of the things people do can suddenly seem very odd. I don’t know how well I’d cope with episodes only being three minutes long, though. It sounds like something best watched over a cup of tea.

Chi’s Sweet Home is the surprise hit of the season for me. It’s just so well-observed comedy.
The bathing the cat sequence was hilarious, but when they managed to sneak an alien anal probe joke in I nearly fell off my chair!

Short and sweet just about describes this series perfectly.

Myself, I’m waiting for the next appearance of pet shop girl…
